As for your little girl, there are quite a few weblogs out there about going Paleo for children. I understand you will see some reading up that you'll need to do to make certain that you are covering everything she needs, but as we don't have children, we really haven't investigated it much. For example: states that most children in the Paleolithic era were breast-fed before age group of 5, so many Paleo children are supplemented until that point with some form of dairy, most likely grassed or goat's dairy to all the gut irritants found in commercially pasteurized cow's dairy. I would not need known that if not for reading, therefore i highly recommend jumping on mother sites before making any drastic changes to her diet.

Dr. Cordain records that historical humans didn't eat added sweets, so soda and energy drinks aren't permitted. Even diet soda is off limits since it doesn't supply essential nutrients, even if it generally does not contain any added sugars. Juice is a difficult drink. One hundred percent fruit juice doesn't contain any added sugar, but it is also stripped of the dietary fiber that whole fruit products. Dr. Cordain advises eating fruits in its complete form and restricting juice to an occasional glass. The entire dairy products group is also off restrictions on the Paleo Diet, so you can't drink cow's milk either, but you can drink homemade almond milk instead of cow's milk.
